Background:

The Cameroonian government through the SNH during the last 5 years has focused on improving the status of Cameroon as a serious player in the African Oil & Gas sector, through increased permit licensing, Exploration and Production Campaign activities.  These actions have brought increased interest and investments by foreign Oil and Gas Players, including a number of American Majors and Service companies, with more expected.

The increased level of interest by American companies in the oilfield sector in Cameroon has significantly increased quantitative and qualitative trade and technological exchanges between Cameroon and the US, wholly in line with the objectives of the AmCham.
