
AmCham joined the Douala edition of the Accelerate Fintech Series 2026, powered by Azamra and Tether.io, marking 250 years of U.S. financial innovation with a masterclass on stablecoins, tokenization and regulated digital finance.
June 23, 2026 — Douala: The American Chamber of Commerce in Cameroon (AmCham) participated in the Accelerate Fintech Series 2026 – Douala Edition, powered by Azamra Financial Technologies and Tether.io, under the theme “250 Years of Innovation in Financial Services.” Organized in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America, the event convened financial institutions, fintech innovators, policymakers and private sector leaders to explore the future of digital finance in Cameroon and across Africa.
In her welcome remarks, Leah M., Founder and CEO of Azamra, AmCham member and Chair of AmCham's Emerging Technologies Committee, welcomed participants and emphasized the transformative potential of financial technology in driving economic growth, financial inclusion and cross-border collaboration. She highlighted the importance of fostering partnerships between the public and private sectors to build resilient and innovative financial ecosystems capable of meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving digital economy.

The Douala session featured the Accelerate Fintech Masterclass, focusing on stablecoins, tokenization and the future of regulated digital finance. Discussions covered key topics including stablecoin settlement and compliance, tokenized financial instruments, cross-border payments, regulatory frameworks, and the global impact of over 250 years of U.S. financial innovation.

Representatives from banks, microfinance institutions, payment service providers, fintech companies and other stakeholders engaged in insightful discussions on the opportunities and challenges associated with digital assets and financial modernization. The event underscored the importance of innovation and collaboration in accelerating the growth of Cameroon's digital economy and strengthening economic ties between the United States and Cameroon.
